F.__Shall, for the purposes of calculating program costs for
state subsidy purposes for fiscal year 2001-02 for the City of
Portland and the other school units affiliated with Portland
Arts and Technology High School, reallocate the total applied
technology education costs for fiscal year 1999-00 among the
City of Portland and those units on the basis of the average
of the percentage of the number of pupils attending Portland
Arts and Technology High School from the City of Portland and
each of those units on October 1, 1998 and October 1, 1999;

 
G.__Shall, for the purposes of calculating program costs for
state subsidy purposes of fiscal year 2000-01 for the City
of Westbrook and the other school units affiliated with
Westbrook Regional Vocational Center, reallocate the total
applied technology education costs of Westbrook Regional
Vocational Center for fiscal year 1998-99 among the City of
Westbrook and those units on the basis of the average of the
percentage of the number of pupils attending Westbrook
Regional Vocational Center from the City of Westbrook and
each of those units on October 1, 1997 and October 1, 1998;
and

 
H.__Shall, for the purposes of calculating program costs for
state subsidy purposes for the fiscal year 2001-02 for the
City of Westbrook and the other school units affiliated with
Westbrook Regional Vocational Center, reallocate the total
applied technology education costs of Westbrook Regional
Vocational Center for fiscal year 1999-00 among the City of
Westbrook and those units on the basis of the average of the
percentage of the number of pupils attending Westbrook
Regional Vocational Center from the City of Westbrook and
each of those units on October 1, 1998 and October 1, 1999.

 
Sec. 4. 20-A MRSA §8404, sub-§4 is enacted to read:

 
4.__Cost-sharing agreement; amend.__The commissioner may
approve an amendment to the cost-sharing agreement of an applied
technology center, adopted by the participating school units,
that provides that the costs of the applied technology center
must be reallocated among the participating school units for the
purposes of calculating the state subsidy to those units for not
more than 2 years in order to ease the transition to a new cost-
sharing agreement.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill allows reallocation of applied technology costs
education for the Portland Arts and Technology High School and
the Westbrook Regional Vocational Center intended to go into
