| | | 1.__Duty to respond to interstate highway cases.__Municipal | | police officers shall respond to and provide assistance to the | | State Police when the State Police request assistance in | | circumstances when the public safety is threatened on the | | interstate highway system. |

| | | 2.__Scope.__Notwithstanding subsection 1, municipal police | | officers may respond to and provide assistance to the State | | Police in any case, but have a duty to respond only to those | | cases in which the incident is on a section of interstate highway | | in the municipality's jurisdiction. |
|
| | | This bill requires municipal police officers to respond to | | requests for assistance from the State Police when public safety | | is in danger on those sections of the interstate highway system | | that are in the municipality's jurisdiction. |
