| Sec. 1. Land for Maine's Future Board and Bureau of Parks and Lands directed to |
| establish guidelines. Resolved: That the Land for Maine's Future Board and |
| the Bureau of Parks and Lands are directed to meet to discuss |
| current public land holdings and land acquisition criteria and |
| priorities. Subsequent to those discussions, the Land for |
| Maine's Future Board must revise the board's guidelines for |
| allocating the proceeds of the Land for Maine's Future Fund and |
| the Public Access to Maine Waters Fund developed in accordance |
| with the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, section 6206 as |
| necessary to promote equity in acquisitions among the rural and |
| urban areas of the State and among the counties of the State. |
| The Land for Maine's Future Board and the Bureau of Parks and |
| Lands shall develop a plan and timetable for achieving an |
| equitable geographic distribution of public lands. In revising |
| these guidelines and developing the timetable, the Land for |
| Maine's Future Board shall hold public hearings to allow |
| participation by the public; and be it |
