Sec. 1. 24 MRSA §2332-J is enacted to read:

§2332-J.__Denture services

All individual and group nonprofit hospital and medical service organization plan contracts and all nonprofit health care service organization plan contracts must provide coverage for services performed by a denturist licensed pursuant to Title 32, chapter 16, subchapter VI, under the same conditions that apply to the services of a licensed physician or dentist.

Sec. 2. 24-A MRSA §2756 is enacted to read:

§2756.__Denture services

All individual insurance policies must provide coverage for services performed by a denturist licensed pursuant to Title 32, chapter 16, subchapter VI, under the same conditions that apply to the services of a licensed physician or dentist.

Sec. 3. 24-A MRSA §2847-G is enacted to read:

§2847-G.__Denture services

All group insurance policies must provide coverage for services performed by a denturist licensed pursuant to Title 32, chapter 16, subchapter VI, under the same conditions that apply to the services of a licensed physician or dentist.

Sec. 4. 24-A MRSA §4245 is enacted to read:

§4245.__Denture services

All individual and group health maintenance organization plan contracts must provide coverage for services performed by a denturist licensed pursuant to Title 32, chapter 16, subchapter VI, under the same conditions that apply to the services of a licensed physician or dentist.

Sec. 5. Application. The requirements of this Act apply to all policies, contracts and certificates executed, delivered, issued for delivery, continued or renewed in this State on or after January 1, 2000. For purposes of this Act, all contracts are deemed to be renewed no later than the next yearly anniversary of the contract date.
