| | | Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §1017, sub-§8-A is enacted to read: |

| | | 8-A.__Direct transfer from a federal election campaign account | | prohibited. A candidate may not use funds transferred from the | | campaign account of a federal election in which that person was a | | candidate in order to benefit a state election in which the | | person is a candidate. |

| | | This bill prohibits the direct transfer of funds from federal | | campaign accounts to state campaign accounts. |
