| | | §1499-A.__Telephone solicitation |

| | | 1.__Definitions.__As used in this section, unless the context | | otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following | | meanings. |

| | | A.__"Caller-ID blocking" means a service or device that | | blocks receipt by a telephone subscriber of the caller's | | telephone access line identification number or other | | telephone access line identification information. |
|
| | | 2.__Prohibition.__A person in this State may not initiate a | | solicitation call to a telephone subscriber in this State if the | | call is subject to caller-ID blocking. |
|
| | | 3.__Penalty.__Violation of subsection 2 is an unfair trade | | practice as prohibited by Title 5, section 207. |
|
| | | This bill prohibits entities conducting intrastate telephone | | solicitation from using caller-ID blocking. |
